To offer a better integration with virtualized computing environments and to deliver a smoother upgrade experience, the Vizzlo PowerPoint add-in will be installed differently starting from version 1.5.0. Due to a limitation of Microsoft PowerPoint, this upgrade cannot be automated.
If you have been using Vizzlo's PowerPoint Add-in prior to version 1.5.0 (released 2021-10-01), you need to follow these steps to be able to upgrade:
-
Close Microsoft PowerPoint.
-
Remove the old Add-In version. To do that:
-
Right click on the Windows start-icon on the very bottom left of the screen, or press the “Windows-key” and “X” on your keyboard.
-
In the menu that opened, click on “Apps & Features” to open a list of all applications installed on your computer.
-
In the newly opened window containing this list of all applications, either use the search input field at the top of the list and enter “Vizzlo”, or scroll down the list until you find the entry called “Vizzlo PowerPoint Add-In”.
-
Click on the application called “Vizzlo PowerPoint Add-In”. Two buttons should appear. Click on the one that says “Uninstall”.
-
A new window should open that will now handle the uninstalling process for the Add-In. In this new window asking you if you are sure that you want to remove the Add-In, click on the “OK” button.
-
The window should close after a few moments and the application “Vizzlo PowerPoint Add-In” should no longer be visible in the “Apps & Features” list.
If this is the case, you have successfully uninstalled the old Add-In. -
Install the new version of the Add-In. To do that:
-
Open the Vizzlo desktop app
-
Click on the “Install PowerPoint Add-In” button on the bottom left of the application.
-
The installation wizard for the PowerPoint Add-In should appear. Follow the steps of the wizard and the new Add-In will be installed successfully.
-
Open PowerPoint again and have fun presenting! 📈
You will only have to do this process once, of course. All future versions of the Vizzlo PowerPoint Add-In will be updated automatically, just as before.
