Chart features are tools that one can add to the charts that can highlight and further explore the data.
This article presents the currently available chart features and a description of them.
The Chart features vary according to the chart you're working on and are accessible by clicking on the button on the toolbar.
Reference line
Add a line that serves as a reference for either the average, the minimum or maximum, the median or a custom set value.
Benchmark
Draw a benchmark line from the first to the last record of the data set.
Select between linear and exponential mode.
Trendline
Add a trendline for your data set.
Choose for a linear, exponential or sliding average trendline.
Trendlines are used to identify the relationship between the variables, helping interpreting the data trends and forecasting future scenarios.
Projection
Add a selectable amount of virtual records to the chart.
The projections follow either the linear or the exponential trend of the data set.
Shade
Add a shade to your chart to highlight certain areas of interest.
The shade can be set to either a vertical or horizontal position.
Difference
Add a shade to highlight the area that represents the difference between two lines.
It is possible to set different colors for the positive/negative difference.
Level Difference
Add an arrow that highlights the difference between two records.
Select to show free text in the bubble or have it show up to two calculated values that can be:
- Difference
- Ratio
- Growth rate
- Basis point
Top arrow
Add an arrow that directs from one record to over another. The reference points are always the sum value of the columns (in a bar chart).
Select to show free text in the bubble or have it show up to two calculated values that can be:
- Sum
- Difference
- Ratio
- Growth rate
Overlay arrow
Add an arrow that spans from one record to another.
Select between showing the compound and the average growth rate in the bubble or use the individual setting display the growth rate for each single record of the dataset.
